Judo Dnepr Sports Club was created in 2010.

Our Mission

The Mission of Judo Dnepr is

to bring up healthier and stronger generations;

to make judo more popular not only in Dnipro but also in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine;

to teach the fundamentals of the Olympic sport of judo;

to show how to become successful both on the tatami and in life.

The Club includes 14 sports halls in the region: Dnipro, Pidgorodne, Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih, Pokrov, Synelnykove and other towns.

Over 1 000 people attend the Club regularly. The attendees are of any age and social groups, such as school and college students, females and males, veterans, and professional athletes who are on the national judo team of Ukraine.

Every year the Club’s infrastructure is growing and developing as we try to ensure a highest quality daily training environment at all our sports hall.

Thanks to the Club, the beginners have someone to live up to. The leaders of Judo Dnepr are multiple winners and awardees of European Cup, World Judo Championship, Veterans European Judo Championships, Veterans World Championships, Ukrainian Judo Federation, as well as international tournaments.

The president of Judo Dnepr is Mikhailo Koshlyak, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, multiple winner of Veterans European and World Championships, and President of Ukrainian Judo Federation.

President of Judo Dnepr Sports Club MIKHAILOKOSHLYAK:

“Judo Dnepr was initiated by Alexander Lenkov, who used to be my coach. I had been practicing judo under his supervision for 16 years. In 2010, we created a sports club aimed to bring as many young people as possible to judo sports halls, which we have succeeded in.

“Now Judo Dnepr is the most popular sports club in the region. Unfortunately Alexander Lenkov passed away in 2017, but the Club goes on. We encourage a high level of ambition and log-term goals.

“We offered our collaboration to the famous judoka Artem Bloshenko, who has been leading the Ukraine men's national judo team since 2017 and has worked with the leading athletes of Judo Dnepr Sports Club. Also, the coaching staff includes another celebrated judoka, Ilya Chimchiuri, a two-time bronze winner of European Championships and multiple award winner of World and European Veterans Championships. On the Club team are Lenkov’s trainees such as masters of sports Denis Bilichenko, Rodion Kokhanovsky, and Bogdan Muntyan, as well as other coaches and instructors.”

Director of Judo Dnepr Sports OKSANA VILENTKO:

“Our Club is a large team of coaches, athletes, parents, fans, and sports enthusiasts. We are lucky to have Mikhailo Koshlyak as the president of Judo Dnepr as he has had first-hand knowledge of judo. Inspiring our team, he still practices judo, works out alongside young athletes, and participates in senior tournaments. The athletic performance of the club points out that we’re on the right track: many trainees compete at both National and International level, join the national judo team, and set a positive example for younger judo practitioners. The Club is growing. We already have our history and our traditions. We will be happy to see new people in our sports halls and welcome everyone who wants to get strong and successful!”
